FOREIGN INVESTORS ACCLAIM LAGOS GLOBAL’S ROLE

The positive role of the Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment (Lagos Global) at promoting Foreign Direct Investment in Lagos State has been acclaimed by a team of the Dutch Alliance for Sustainable Urban Development in Africa (DASUDA).

The DASUDA team comprising investors in the Infrastructure and Housing sectors gave this accolade during its business meeting with the management of the Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment last Thursday in Alausa.

The team expressed its satisfaction with the transparency and resourcefulness with which the Lagos Global office conducted its business with investors.

The Chairman of DASUDA, Mr. Robert van Kats stated that the Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment was already positioning Lagos to mobilizing and exploring foreign investment opportunities.

“Today’s meeting with Lagos Global has shown that Lagos has changed impressively from what we used to read. If this trend is sustained, Lagos will, very soon, be hosting the headquarters of top businesses in the world. A good impression and success with one foreign investor has a chain reaction in international business. This is good,” he stressed.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment, Dr. Yakub Olajide Basorun, speaking on behalf of the Special Adviser, Prof. Ademola Abass, assured investors of concrete steps taken to enhance the ease of doing business in the State which included the adoption of Proposal Template and streamlining of the internal working process of the Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment.

The import of these measures taken by the Office of Overseas Affairs and Investment is to ensure that no proposal stayed beyond 120days with it and to also avail investors good working experience in Lagos State.
